Latest in Taoyuan! Groundbreaking Ceremony for a World-Class Seismic Isolation Housing Project Begins

Far Eastern Construction Holds Groundbreaking Ceremony for New Project in Taoyuan Zhonglu District, Introducing World-Class Seismic Isolation Technology

Last week, Far Eastern Construction held the official groundbreaking ceremony for its new project in Taoyuan’s Zhonglu District. We extend our sincere thanks to Far Eastern Construction for selecting the Japan OILES seismic isolation system, represented by Taiwan Matsuzawa, thereby bringing world-class seismic isolation technology to Taoyuan. At the ceremony, the chairman and general manager of Lihsin Construction / Taiwan Matsuzawa were invited to attend and took part in media interviews, sharing insights on the benefits and future development of earthquake-resistant buildings.

Far Eastern Construction, a partner of Chang Sheng Enterprise, is widely recognized for its high-quality projects in the Taoyuan region and has successfully launched many earthquake-resistant and vibration-controlled buildings in the past. This Zhonglu project marks the first time the Japan OILES seismic isolation system has been adopted in the area, not only enhancing safety measures but also injecting new vitality into the local real estate market.

In recent years, Taoyuan has become a hotspot in Taiwan’s real estate market, yet seismic isolation buildings remain relatively rare. This collaboration between Taiwan Matsuzawa and Far Eastern Construction aims to create world-class earthquake-resistant housing in the Zhonglu District. Before launching the project, the Chang Sheng Group / Far Eastern Construction team visited Lihsin Skytower to observe its seismic isolation layer in person. The Matsuzawa team provided expert guidance on the unique advantages of the isolation technology.

Taiwan Matsuzawa continues to promote seismic isolation technology, offering residents greater safety during earthquakes. Traditional earthquake-resistant buildings rely on their structural integrity to absorb seismic forces, often leading to damage and repair needs after a quake. In contrast, seismic isolation buildings use dampers installed beneath beams and columns, with buffer materials separating the foundation from the structure, achieving superior isolation and reducing seismic forces by up to 70%. The OILES seismic isolation system has withstood the test of time for over half a century and is recognized globally for its outstanding quality.

After years of careful planning, the Zhonglu project, with close collaboration between Far Eastern Construction, architects, and technical teams, has finally commenced construction in September of this year. This project is not only Taiwan Matsuzawa’s first seismic isolation development in Taoyuan but also signifies the start of more collaboration opportunities in Taoyuan and across Taiwan as Matsuzawa’s headquarters is established. Interested parties are welcome to inquire, and the Taiwan Matsuzawa team will provide comprehensive services, from initial planning to final installation.

Once again, we thank Far Eastern Construction for their trust and collaboration. This Zhonglu project will undoubtedly offer Taoyuan residents a safer, more comfortable living environment, adding another highlight to the city's ongoing development.
